The investors and the public have been alerted to the fact that as a result of the provisions of Section 12(1B) of the SEBI Act no new collective investment schemes can be sponsored by any person till regulations are notified by SEBI. Section 12(1B) permits existing collective investment schemes to carry on their operations. Investors are advised not to invest any monies in any of existing collective investment schemes unless the instruments issued by such collective investment schemes are rated by the credit rating agencies mentioned above. It is brought to the notice of the public that the companies/persons other than the above referred companies / persons cannot mobilise any money from the public under any schemes i.e. whether existing or new collective investment schemes.
The general public may, bring to the notice of SEBI, the names of the companies or persons who are collecting or mobilising money from the public in contravention of the above, so that SEBI can take appropriate action. The said information can be given to SEBI, Head-Office at Mumbai or its Regional Offices.
