The BSE (Corporatisation and Demutualisation) Scheme, 2005
Pursuant to the requirements of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956, [SC(R)A] as amended in 2004, the Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE) submitted its Scheme for Corporatisation and Demutualisation to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for approval. SEBI, after following the due process and on being satisfied that it is in the interest of the trade and also in the public interest, approved the Scheme, with certain modifications vide Order dated May 20, 2005.
The salient features of the Scheme are as follows :–
