The division handles legal reference/informal guidance, policy issue/legislative drafting pertaining to the Corporate Finance Department. The division also deals with the matters pertaining to the Right to Information Act, 2005, Parliamentary Questions, monitoring laying status of regulations, internship in the legal departments of SEBI.

The division handles legal reference/informal guidance, policy issue/legislative drafting pertaining to the departments such as Market Intermediaries Regulation and Supervision Department, Investment Management Department, Alternative Investment Fund and Foreign Portfolio Investors Department, Human Resources Department, Information Technology Department and General Services Department. Further, the division also corresponds with the Internal Inspection Department for necessary compliances.

Further, the division also corresponds with the Official Language Department for compliance with the official language policies.
