Legal Affairs Department 1 (Vertical 2) (LAD2 (V2))

The department handles litigation at Head Office before various courts, provides litigation assistance and centralisation of litigation database pertaining to the cases in the various courts (civil cases) in India [situated within the territorial jurisdiction of SEBI Northern Regional Office (NRO), SEBI Eastern Regional Office (ERO), SEBI Western Regional Office (WRO) and SEBI Southern Regional Office (SRO)], policy implications/proposals derived from handling litigation and analysis of Court Orders, legal reference/informal guidance, policy issue/legislative drafting, work pertaining to various departments of the Board such as Department of Debt and Hybrid Securities, Office of International Affairs, Department of Economic & Policy Analysis. Further, the department is the nodal department for the Office of Informant Protection and also deals with legislative drafting of various Acts and Rules associated with the securities market.
